Triple E Framework
The video above this section details the Triple E Framework and how it can be used to assess the added value of using technology in the creation of lessons. The framework is valuable in that it is broken into three parts: engagement, enhancement and extension. This framework should be used to analyze a lesson before implementing it directly into your classroom simply for the sake of adding technology. The following lesson plan (attached here) details a lesson that follows all EEE's of the framework in that it engages students in the task, enhances their their learning of the standards, and extends their understanding of functions outside of the classroom. The lesson plan that I created utilizes a PowerPoint presentation that students are viewing to understand and make sense of the task and also student/group use of graphing calculators and a Calculator Based Ranger (CBR) in order to track distance over time and gather real time data. Overall I felt that the framework was useful for me in creating this lesson and making sure that the lesson would best serve my students. For reference, I teach a section of 22 ninth grade students.
