Plywood Bookcase
This bookcase found a home at my new apartment in Hawaii. I wanted something simple, cheap, easy to put together, and strong enough to hold my growing plant collection and notebooks chronicling my college education. The following materials were used in order to put the bookcase together:
Tools Required: Table saw (home depot/hardware store to cut plywood at 12" widths)\ Sliding compound miter saw in order to cut wider pieces of plywood Kreg drill put to create countersink holes 90 degree clamp multi tool to measure angles Jigsaw to cut base piece Palm sander Wood: Two 4x8 sheets of plywood cut at the following lengths: Base: 0.75" x 9" x 36" (x2) cut at angles detailed in the drawing below Width Piece: 0.75" x 12" x 36" (x2) Height Piece: 0.75" x 12" x 58" (x2) Top Divider Piece: 0.75" x 12" x 16.5" (x1) Bottom Divider Piece: 0.75" x 12" x 39.25" (x1) Bottom Shelves: 0.75" x 12" x 17+5/8" (x4) Top Shelf: 0.75" x 12" x 23" (x1) 2x4 Support left over from Surfboard Rack Project: Base Support: 1.5" x 3.5" x 9" (x2) Other: 3/8" end caps to fill countersink holes |
